Renewing our minds!

This week, we hope to begin with a focus on how to renew our minds in the Scriptures.

If you normally cannot make it to the Friday meetings, please read and you may still participate (see below).

Rather than a Bible study format, we will just have time for sisters to share meaningful scriptures or ask for meaningful scriptures related to what they may be struggling with. You may think you don't have anything to share, but you do! How has the Lord encouraged you in his word? That is what you can share. Don't worry about being profound. And everyone doesn't have to share during the same meeting.

Areas which are pretty common struggles for all of us include:

forgiveness
worry, fear
anger
self-discipline, self-control
idle or vain thoughts
discontent, unthankfulness

I didn't put depression, because its kind of a outworking of the things above, but it is a real struggle too, and it will certainly come up.

In advance of Friday, if time allows, it would be good to try to read the previous post regarding this topic .

So please bring any special scriptures which have encouraged you. You can share the scripture and tell a bit how it encouraged you, or JUST SHARE THE SCRIPTURE without comment. If you find something this week, great, but you could also share something that you have held onto for years!

We will probably spend some time on this topic for the coming weeks. In fact, we want to always make sure we are encouraging others in the scriptures.

As always, we pray that our meetings would be edifying and that our speech and thoughts would be pleasing to God and a blessing to others. Let's be praying for the Lord to bless this time.

Some of you will recall the December 17 meeting and the prayer request time. Some really good scriptures were given for encouragement. They were:

2 Timothy 1:1-10
2 Corinthians 10:5
Philippians 4:6-8

We appreciate everyone's efforts to come and be a blessing! Hope to see you Friday!

If you cannot normally make it to the Friday meetings, but would like to share a scripture or testimony, please email Debbie at daveanddebklein@yahoo.com or you can leave a comment to this post and it will appear on this blog. Thanks!
