Some parenting principles
Last week, we began looking at some verses which help to give us God's perspective on children. It is wise to have good principles to guide us as we determine the specifics of our duties as moms! Tomorrow, we will try to continue this list, thought we also have much to pray about!
Children are a blessing: Psalm 127
Children are a main point of marriage (rather than a complication or hindrance to the relationship): Malachi 2:13-15
Children help us to grow in the Lord - our "discipleship program": Deuteronomy 6:1-9
We must practice what we preach: Luke 17:1-2, Ephesians 6:4
Children are sinners: Job 1:4-5, Proverbs 22:15
Children require attention: Proverbs 29:15
To the extent I do not discipline, I do not love: Proverbs 13:24, 1 Cor 13:6
God must work in our children's hearts - He gets the glory: John 17:6, 1 Cor 3:7
We have an enemy: 1 Peter 5:8, Ephesians 6:11 - 17
