Channels only!

In whatever we do, it is only by the Lord's enabling. Recently, we are enjoying the hymn, Channels Only. There is much truth and encouragement in the words...

How I praise Thee, precious Savior,
That Thy love laid hold of me;
Thou hast saved and cleansed and filled me
That I might Thy channel be.

But with all Thy wondrous power
Flowing through us, Thou canst use us
Every day and every hour.

There are many undeniable evidences of God's work in our lives. His work comes when we are emptied of ourselves and rather controlled by his Spirit. As we consider how we spend our days, setting goals which reflect God's priorities in our lives, we need to remember that the best we can do is walk in the Spirit. It is He who enables us to glorify him in our time usage. If our days get complicated by trying to get things done, this truth simplifies things for us and gives us His peace!

That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us,
